Action taken after Swindon Asda Orbital safety concerns

The external lighting at the front of Asda Orbital was not working well, due to a fault.

This was leading to safety concerns from shoppers, pedestrians and staff during darker hours.

In a Facebook post, Haydon Wick Parish Councillor, Cllr Vinay Manro, provided an update on the situation:

“The external lighting at the front of Asda Orbital is now working again.

“For several weeks, the area outside the store was very dark due to a fault with the main lights.

“This created visibility and safety concerns for shoppers, pedestrians, and staff during darker hours.

“Following inspections and repairs by the site management contractor, the lights have now been fixed and are back in operation.

“Thank you to everyone who raised the issue and helped ensure it was followed up.”

Cllr Manro encourages anyone who wishes to raise other issues around Asda and the wider Orbital area to comment below his post, or message him.

“There are some follow up works to do, but I will keep pressing Asda to resolve those,” he said in a video clip.

“Once I know more on time frames of that, I will let you know.”
