Hollywood star Adam Sandler has been a mainstay on screens for decades and now he’s bringing his family into the limelight with his brand-new movie.
The 56-year-old star, best known for his movies The Wedding Singer and Big Daddy, will be sharing the screen with several family members.
Adam will be starring in the coming-of-age drama You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, which is due to land on Netflix on August 25.
The movie is based on the Young Adult novel of the same name by Fiona Rosenbloom.
You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah follows the fallout between middle school best friends Stacy Friedman (played by Sunny Sandler) and Lydia Katz (Samantha Lorraine) as they navigate adolescence.
Adam stars as Danny Friedman, a beleaguered father of teenage daughters Stacy and Ronnie (Sadie Sandler), which sees the actor appearing with his children on screen.
The trailer shows his character Danny in a blazing row with Stacy, while his older daughter Ronnie reveals she’s started drinking.
“She’s growing up so fast, it’s crazy,” Danny says as he’s perplexed by parenthood.
His wife Jackie Sandler even has a role in the film as the Friedmans’ family friend Gabi Rodriguez Katz.
Both Sunny and Sadie have starred opposite their famous father before as they follow in his footsteps.
Sunny has starred in Grown Ups, Sandy Wexler and Blended, while her sister Sadie has appeared in Jack and Jill, Murder Mystery and The Do-Over.
The pair will be appearing in a project called Leo next alongside the Netflix film.
Along with the Sandler family all having starring roles in the movie, Frozen’s Idina Menzel plays Adam’s wife Bree Friedman while Dylan Hoffman stars as teen heartthrob Andy Goldfarb.
Further cast members include Sarah Sherman, Luis Guzmán, Ido Mosseri, Dean Scott Vazquez, Miya Cech, Dylan Dash, Millie Thorpe as well as newcomers Zaara Kuttemperoor and Ivory Baker.
Adam also serves as an executive producer on You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.
