Address, Christmas posting dates and when to expect a reply

It’s been a tough year for everyone including the children who have been off school, cooped up indoors and missing their friends.

But at least they can be assured that naughty or nice, Father Christmas will be able to make his deliveries despite all the coronavirus restrictions.

After Boris Johnson reassured eight-year-old Monti that Father Christmas would still be delivering presents, children up and down the country have been writing their letters and hoping they’re not on the naughty list this year.

But if your child still hasn’t told Santa what they would like to find under the tree this year, here’s all you need to know about getting letters to him sent on time, where to send them to and the last posting date.

Where should your child send their letter?

Children up and down the UK can send their letters to:

Santa/Father Christmas
Santa’s Grotto
Reindeerland
XM4 5HQ

They must include their full name and address in their letter, write Santa’s address out carefully on the envelope and put a stamp on it.

When is the last posting date?

Letters must be in the post by Friday 11 December.

Will Father Christmas reply to everyone’s letters?

He said he will certainly try to! And The Royal Mail has said Santa will start responding to children’s letters from 30 November.

Santa said: “Dear boys and girls, Christmas is a very exciting but busy time for me.

“The elves are making toys. The reindeer are practising their sleigh runs. And I’m busy preparing my list of who’s been good this year.

“I will be getting my sleigh ready for the long journey on Christmas Eve and in between I will try to reply to as many of you as possible.”
