Adidas has confirmed that it has been targeted by a cyber-attack, with some customer data stolen as part of the incident.
The sportswear giant said that “an unauthorised external party obtained certain consumer data through a third-party customer service provider,” in a statement on its website.
According to the company, compromised data does not include passwords, credit card or other payment details.

It does, however, include contact information relating to customers that have previously contacted the Adidas customer service help desk.
The firm says they are in the process of informing customers that have been potentially affected by the cyber-attack, as well as “appropriate data protection and law enforcement authorities consistent with applicable law.”
It is currently uncertain how much data or how many consumers may have been potentially affected by the data theft.
“We immediately took steps to contain the incident and launched a comprehensive investigation, collaborating with leading information security experts,” Adidas said.
The attack follows a torrent of cyber-attacks aimed at the UK retail sector, with M&S, Co-op, and Harrods suffering impact in their operations.

As of now, it appears that this attack is not affecting operations at Adidas.
UK police are investigating the cyber gang Scattered Spider in relation to the retail attacks earlier in the year. M&S estimated that the cyber-attack they suffered with cost them around £300m.
Earlier in May, Adidas shared that data breaches impacted customers who contacted their customer service centre in South Korea and Turkey in 2024. This attack resulted in the theft of data ranging from names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, and dates of birth.
