The aged care royal commission will resume hearings next month, after suspending public events due to coronavirus restrictions.
The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety on Tuesday said hearings will resume in July, after being suspended in March.
“While hearings have been suspended, royal commissioners and staff have continued to work on research and policy development as part of preparation for the final report which is due to be finalised in November 2020,” it said.
A hearing will be held on July 15-17 to examine how mental health, oral health and allied health care could be improved for people accessing aged care services.
The Melbourne hearing will be closed to the public due to coronavirus restrictions but it will be live streamed as usual.
The royal commission said the suspension of its hearings had also allowed those working in the aged care sector to focus on managing the impact of the pandemic on their delivery of aged care services.
