As summer comes to a close and Christmas begins to appear on the horizon, Royal mail are looking for additions to support the increased seasonal demand across Coventry and Warwickshire.
In Coventry itself, four positions are up for grabs. Ten more are available across the county, with the majority being located at the Royal Mail’s depot east of Rugby.
The company lists on their vacancies that “There has never been a more exciting time to join us! We are reinventing Royal Mail for the future and now is a perfect time to join us on that journey.”

While Christmas vacancies are still a way off, there’s a few permanent and fixed contract roles for those looking to jump into the world of post. One of which, a Parceforce Collection and Delivery Driver, has a starting salary of £23,290 (£11.75 per hour) increasing to £25,679 (£12.95 per hour), on completion of 6 month probation period.
This is on top of an additional supplement of £824 per annum pro rota, nightshift allowance and excellent benefits (based on a 38 hour full time week). At the depot in Willenhall, there’s a vacancy for the mechanically minded, helping keep the iconic red vans’ wheels turning across the city.
Billed as “the largest, greenest fleet operator in the UK”, Royal Mail are recruiting an IMI Level 3 qualified mechanic at Coventry Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn over £70,000 per annum including overtime.
“With a Fleet of over 49,000 vehicles, including traditional fuel and electric vehicles, LCVs and HGVs, maintaining our vehicles is a true team effort. We’re investing in modernising our fleet, giving you the opportunity to work on a variety of makes and models. There’s never been a better time to join Royal Mail as a Vehicle Technician,” the listing stated.
Further afield, there are multiple jobs going at Royal Mail’s depot east of Rugby, as well as vacancies in the smaller towns and communities around Warwickshire. With openings in Nuneaton, Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Southam, it’s an option for those wanting to avoid the commute in and out of Coventry.
