It’s already getting closer and closer to the end of the year – which could be daunting as we have to start thinking about Christmas, but could also be a great opportunity for something new. In this case, you could try a new job, as there are many places offering seasonal roles in London this Christmas.
One of the companies advertising for Christmas workers is Royal Mail, who are looking for seasonal mail sorters in their Jubilee Mail Centre in Hounslow and many other spots around London. The festive period is the busiest time of year in the mail delivery business, so Royal Mail are looking for extra staff this December.

Most shifts Royal Mail are looking for are during evenings and overnights, offering £15.92 for late shifts between 2pm and 10pm, and £17.10 for overnight shifts between 10am and 6am.
The job advert asks for people who like working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines, as well as being able to demonstrate flexibility and are happy to switch tasks during shifts.

You also need to be quite strong for this role. Royal Mail says you need to be able to push trolleys of up to 250kg, and lift and move mailbags weighing up to 11kg. You also have to be able to stand for long periods of time.
There are also several other roles available at various Royal Mail sites in London, including being a postperson. This role, working 30 hours per week, is your traditional postie role, so you need to be able to drive and deliver mail across your allocated area.
Successful candidates need to be self-motivated, upbeat and independent, as well as being organised and punctual. Royal Mail are looking for someone who is a people person and is a friendly face in the community.
The role pays £14.58 per hour, with overtime paying 1.25 times the normal hourly rate. Currently, these roles are available in Chingford, Lewisham, Upper Holloway, Wimbledon and North London.
