Alyssa Milano took to Twitter on Tuesday and offered an ‘olive branch’ to supporters of President Trump
Supporters of Donald Trump are mocking Alyssa Milano after the diehard Democratic activist and fierce critic of the president and his Republican backers offered to extend an ‘olive branch’ to the MAGA crowd.
‘I’d like to extend an olive branch to Trump supporters. I am ready to move #ForwardTogether,’ the star of the hit TV show Charmed tweeted to her 3.7 million followers on Tuesday.
‘There’s so much work to do to heal the nation. Let’s be a part of the solution and not add to the problems we face.’
Milano then invited Twitter followers to reply with the hashtag #ForwardTogether.
In a follow-up tweet, she wrote: ‘We’re going to need a lot of humility and compassion right now.
‘Anger and triumphalism is less helpful.’
Supporters of the president did not appear too eager to take up the former Who’s The Boss star on her offer.
Several of them reminded her of her fierce, public opposition to the confirmation of then-Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Milano, a stalwart Democratic Party supporter and activist on behalf of liberal causes, has been a fierce, vocal critic of President Trump and his supporters. The president is seen above during a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on November 3
Two years ago, Milano was famously photographed staring at the now-justice while she attended the contentious Senate Judiciary Committee hearings after Kavanaugh was nominated by President Trump to fill the seat vacated by Anthony Kennedy.
Democrats and liberal activists mobilized en masse to mount a vocal opposition to Kavanaugh’s confirmation after it was learned that a high school classmate, Christine Blasey Ford, came forward to allege sexual assault during a party more than three decades ago.
Those allegations were never substantiated.
Kavanaugh was eventually confirmed along a party-line vote.
Twitter user Stephanie Bracken wrote to Milano: ‘I remember you.
‘You were the one glaring at Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his hearings.
‘You were the one that called conservatives every name in the book and didn’t censor your words in the least.

Cory Bridgmon asked Milano: ‘Kinda like the one (olive branch) you extended Justice Kavanaugh?’
Another Twitter user commented that Milano’s offer of an olive branch was not sincere since she likely would not have extended one if Joe Biden had lost
Another Twitter user wrote: ‘This has to be another sick joke what has happened to you? four years of the most insane sick tweets about our @POTUS and anyone who stands with him now you have been cured?’
Another Twitter user wrote: ‘Brett Kavanaugh B! NEVER!’ It included a meme of a woman saying: ‘Get the f*** out of here.’
‘ No way you’d be offering an olive branch had your party lost … How about NO.’

Milano also received pushback from Trump opponents who said his supporters did not deserve to be offered an olive branch.
‘The majority of Black people will not be joining you,’ tweeted one Twitter user who posted a photo of a white supremacist making a Nazi hand gesture
Another Twitter user wrote: ‘As white people we need to confront other white people who *AT BEST* were okay with racism & sexism because they didn’t think it directly impacted them.’
‘Your post is just another way of saying,”accept the results” it would have been more genuine had you posted this 4 or 2 years ago,’ wrote a Twitter user.
The Twitter post included a meme that noted how liberal activists refused to accept Trump as president and were now asking his supporters to get behind Biden.

‘They will do this again as soon as another election happens.
‘This is why they always catch us slipping and we never catch them.
‘It didn’t matter how awful they were, as soon as we won here you are.’
Joe Largo tweeted: ‘They (Trump supporters) deserved it. And more.’
He then posted an image of two Trump supporters – a man and woman – wearing pro-Trump shirts that read ‘F*** your feelings.’

He added: ‘Some may listen. If their actions back it up, maybe we can move forward together.
‘Not all will.’
Milano has not been shy about voicing her opinion on the Trump administration. She has in the past denounced the president as a racist while comparing his supporters to the Ku Klux Klan.
In January of last year, Milano tweeted: ‘The red MAGA hat is the new white hood.
Last month, Milano also signed a petition saying she ‘refused to accept a Fascist America.’
After lawmakers could not agree on another COVID-19 stimulus package, Milano tweeted last month: ‘F*** Republicans. Vote them all out. They don’t care about your family or helping you put food on the table. All they care about is power and money’
In July of last year, Milano also posted a tweet that juxtaposed a photo of Vice President Mike Pence at a migrant detention center with a picture of Nazi SS Commander Heinrich Himmler visiting a concentration camp
Milano has also compared Trump and his administration’s policies toward undocumented migrants to those of the Nazis
‘Without white boys being able to empathize with other people, humanity will continue to destroy itself.’
After a presidential debate last month between Trump and Biden, Milano tweeted: ‘America or Trump. You can’t love both.’
Milano has also compared Trump and his administration’s policies toward undocumented migrants to those of the Nazis.
‘It’s not an exaggeration – Trump’s treatment of immigrants mirrors the actions of Nazis,’ Milano tweeted in September.
‘From #FreeRosa to forced #Hysterectomies, he’s always done the very worst possible thing.
‘I won’t stand for it. Neither should you. #ImmigrantsMatter.’
Rosa is a reference to Rosa Maria Hernandez, a 10-year-old girl suffering from cerebral palsy who was brought to the United States as an infant.
In October 2017, she was detained by Border Patrol after she underwent surgery in a hospital. After her operation, Border Patrol held her alone in detention for eleven days.
After her case generated considerable attention, she was released by authorities and allowed to return to her family in early November of 2017.
In July of last year, Milano also posted a tweet that juxtaposed a photo of Vice President Mike Pence at a migrant detention center with a picture of Nazi SS Commander Heinrich Himmler visiting a concentration camp.
The Trump administration has been roundly criticized by human rights organizations for its controversial immigration policies, including the separation of children from their parents at the southern border.

After lawmakers could not agree on another COVID-19 stimulus package, Milano tweeted last month: ‘F*** Republicans. Vote them all out. They don’t care about your family or helping you put food on the table. All they care about is power and money.’
