Amazon gives Evri accredited seller status to deliver its Prime parcels

// Evri has become an accredited Seller Fulfilled Prime carrier for Amazon supporting merchants across the UK
// During the trial period with Amazon Prime, Evri had a delivery success rate of over 97%

Amazon has given Evri, formerly Hermes, an accredited Seller Fulfilled Prime carrier for its Prime service to deliver parcels on behalf of merchants on the online giant‘s website.

Evri received the accreditation after completing a six-week trial, during which the firm says it “consistently met or surpassed Amazon’s requirement to successfully deliver parcels to stringent standards”.

A key requirement of the trial was that it could collect the parcels after 4.30pm from Monday to Friday and after 12.30pm on Saturday from the merchants within the UK, to then deliver to recipients the next day, anywhere in the country.

The partnership comes despite Evri facing customer ire over the Christmas period where many parcels were severely delayed.

The delivery giant was forced to apologise when some customers had not received their packages by mid-January after staff shortages, Royal Mail strikes and bad weather contributed to delays.

Evri already delivers to individual Amazon customers and this new collaboration will allow about 85,000 small and medium-sized enterprises across the UK on the Amazon store to select it as their delivery provider across Prime and non-Prime orders.

Evri ecommerce director David Saenz said: “This new collaboration with Amazon Prime is an important milestone for us. It demonstrates, once again, that we’re  a parcel industry disruptor that is helping to bring down the cost of delivery for consumers and businesses, and offering a fast, reliable, and cost-effective service to compete with the UK’s traditional carriers.”

“Evri has always been committed to supporting businesses, big and small, and Amazon’s website is a great way to demonstrate – at the highest level – what we can help them achieve.”
