Amazon’s last date to order in time for Christmas

Last minute Christmas shopping is stressful enough without the sudden realisation you may be too late and the cut-off date to order has been and gone. A manic rush to a heaving city centre is not ideal and ordering presents can just be much more convenient with typically a larger selection online.

One of most popular sites for Christmas gifts, decorations and trees is Amazon – and they have urged people to be cautious when ordering to make sure their order will arrive in time for the big day. Luckily, Amazon offer a selection of delivery options for customers including a new ‘arrives before Christmas’ badge on items which can will give shoppers peace of mind their item will be with them in time.

The last day you can order from Amazon to get your presents in time depends on the product but with the new ‘arrives before Christmas’ badge on product detail pages you can easily identify items that will arrive before December 25. Prime delivery is available on millions of products, including same-day delivery to over 80 towns and cities and one-day delivery nationwide.

Those who may be out and about, busy with work or other commitments can ‘pick-up’ their parcel from over 20,000 locations across the country, including Amazon Lockers. Amazon has warned shoppers to always check the final delivery date at checkout, as delivery cut off dates are a guideline and can be impacted by external factors.

Royal Mail has also shared the last posting dates for Christmas in 2024. On its website, Royal Mail said: “It’s always advisable to post as early as possible to ensure that your Christmas letters and parcels reach their destination in good time.” The website contains helpful information about posting dates, seasonal job opportunities and ow to send letters and parcels safely.

The last Christmas post date for second class and second class signed for items is Wednesday, December 18. The last day for Christmas post items which are sent first class, first class signed for or Royal Mail Tracked 48 is Friday, December 20.

Anyone sending items via Royal Mail Tracked 24 has until Sunday, December 21 to post their items. And the final deadline for postage is Monday, December 23 if items are being sent via Special Delivery Guaranteed.
