If there’s one thing Americans can agree on, it’s that we’re a diverse country. Each state has its own personality and customs, so if you’re traveling from one state to another, you’re bound to be surprised by a thing or two. That said, I want to know: What’s a “culture shock” moment you had or experienced in another state?
Maybe you live in California and traveled to a land-locked state for the first time. You didn’t even realize until then that not everyone has easy access to beautiful beaches and that some people have never seen the ocean before!
Maybe you live in a big city and visited a more rural state like Maine, and you were amazed by how much of a slower pace everyone seems to live their life (not to mention the lack of traffic).
Maybe you visited a southern state like Louisiana and tried authentic soul food for the first time. Since then, your taste buds have never been the same, and you think about that meal every day.
Or maybe you traveled to Florida for the first time, and — well, enough said.
Whatever the case, if you’ve experienced a “culture shock” moment when traveling to another state within the US, I want to know all about it.
