Are Post Offices open on bank holiday for the coronation of King Charles III?

With a bank holiday right around the corner, many people will be getting ready to enjoy a couple of days off work.

However, if you’re hoping to send out some letters and parcels, it may be worth checking when the Post Office is actually open. This is because operating hours may change to accommodate the bank holiday for the coronation of King Charles III.

Here’s everything you need to know about Post Office times for May 8.

Will Royal Mail deliver over the coronation?

Royal Mail will cease all deliveries on May 8. Services should operate as usual on Saturday and Sunday.

They said: “We deliver and collect your mail on most days of the year, including Saturdays. However, we don’t usually deliver or collect on public or local holidays.”

Opening times for Post Offices on bank holiday

On May 2, Post Office tweeted: “Branch opening times may differ this #Coronation Bank Holiday. Please check with your local branch in store or on their social media pages for updated opening times.”

Liverpool’s Post Office branch is open on Monday from 9am to 6pm.
