According to Royal Mail there will be no deliveries or collections on Good Friday and Easter Monday in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. In Scotland, there will be normal service on Good Friday and no deliveries or collections on Easter Monday.

The opening hours for Post Offices themselves will also vary depending on where you live in the country – so the advice is to check before you go. While most will be shut on Good Friday and Easter Monday, some within other stores may remain open.

A spokesperson for the Post Office told the M.E.N: “We have over 11,500 Post Office branches all with different opening times.

“Some Post Offices are within convenience stores and shops that will choose to remain open throughout Easter including Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

“Customers are advised to check with their usual branch for opening times.”
