Easter is, to many, a time of rebirth and relaxation – where we get a couple of bank holidays to spend time with friends and family, hopefully in the sun.

It’s also a much-needed time to catch up with your mountain of life admin (literally speaking when it comes to that pile of laundry).

And that includes finally mailing that ‘Congratulations!’ card for your friend that’s been sitting on your desk all week. (Not shaming you here at all, life happens.)

Whatever the case, it’s useful to know when things are open over the Easter weekend so you don’t find yourself staring at a ‘Sorry, we’re closed’ sign.

So, if you’re due a trip to the post office, here’s the next time you can expect them to be open.

Unfortunately, most post offices will be closed on Good Friday (March 29) and Easter Monday (April 1) – and no, that’s not an April Fools.

Post offices are closed on Bank Holidays to give their hardworking staff some much-needed time off.

It’s always best to check with the Royal Mail, which lists all the days when there will be no collections or deliveries.

Your postie will stay pay you a visit on Easter Saturday and most post offices will be open.

Given that there was no service the day before, however, expect mail to be delayed.

Most post offices are open on Sunday and some parts of central London may also have deliveries on Sunday.

Normal services will resume next Tuesday (April 2).
