Are there any Royal Mail strikes in June or July 2023?

No, there are no planned Royal Mail postal strikes in June or July 2023 – and it looks like no more could be needed at all.

Royal Mail put forward a deal to the Communication Workers Union (CWU) in April that includes a pay rise and other benefits, but they are still yet to vote on the offer.

If accepted, no more postal strikes will be called and the dispute will officially be over, and the results are coming very soon.

The latest update on postal strikes

In their latest update on June 19, Royal Mail said the CWU is launching the ballot to its members on Thursday, June 22.

“It will now be put forward to the CWU members to vote with a recommendation to accept,” the company said. “The agreement includes a pay offer as well as the improvements made during negotiations.”

CWU bosses, including general secretary Dave Ward, previously suspended the vote in May amid allegations of a “toxic” work environment.

“The sooner we can get a positive ballot result, the sooner we can give our people the pay rise that we have agreed with the CWU and provide greater job security,” Royal Mail said.

What does the deal include?

Royal Mail’s pay offer would give workers a 10 percent salary increase over three years and a one-off lump sum payment of £500.

As well as this, postal staff would receive 20 per cent of Royal Mail’s operating profits over the next two years. It also includes changes to delivery start times and Sunday working.

Accepting the deal will conclude the almost year-long dispute and end postal strikes for good.
