Armed police officers stand down after incident

Road closures that had been in place due to an incident on A46 Bath Road in Stroud have now been lifted.

Police had been in attendance at an address since around 1 am today, Tuesday 30 May, after a man refused to leave a property.

Negotiators and armed officers remained at the property for several hours and road closures had been put in place due to this.

He surrendered himself to police at around 7.20 am and the road closures have now been removed.

No one was injured during the incident and officers have thanked those impacted by the closures for their patience and understanding.
