Merseyside Police raided the property on Sunday
Merseyside Police seized £30,000 in cash and multi-kilos of drugs after a house in Dovecot was raided yesterday – Sunday, March 29. At around 3.25pm, officers in Dovecot raided an address in Turrif Road which was supposedly unoccupied and had a “strong smell of suspected cannabis,” the force said.
Following a search, multi-kilo amounts of suspected cocaine and cannabis were seized; and more than £30,000 in cash. A 35-year-old man from Dovecot was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis and cocaine; possession of criminal property; and possession of cannabis. He remains in police custody at this time.
Detective Inspector Jemma Berry said: “This action has removed significant harm from the communities, both through the drugs destined for the streets, and the threats and violence often associated with serious and organised criminals.
“Through smart, proactive policing, officers have unearthed a safe house and removed all of the harmful items from within, which will now be subject of an extensive investigation.
“If you hold any information about the suspected storage and supply of drugs in your area, come forward and we will keep taking positive action to remove harm from the streets.”
