Arrogant Andrew can’t hide behind uniforms, titles and his mummy

Prince Andrew can’t play in the dressing up box anymore.

ndrew was gutted last week when he was stripped of his many and varied made-up titles, although could we stop saying Andrew and stripped in the same sentence. That’s how he got into all this trouble in the first place.

The prince will now have to fight Virginia Giuffre’s allegations that he’s a dirty old man as a ‘private citizen’, according to a statement from his 95-year-old mother.

He’ll be telling us next she’s cut off his pocket money. In the circumstances the Queen probably feels like cutting off something else.

His former chums in the military had been asking for some time for the friend of the world’s most famous sex trafficker and general deviant Jeffrey Epstein to cut his ties.

Among the titles he’s now had to hand back to his mum is Colonel in Chief of the Princess Louise Fusiliers of Canada. Are they the baking division?

He’s had to give up pretend leadership roles across the navy, army and air force, but with all that sailing, fighting and flying he still fitted in, allegedly, some time with a teenage girl. In that famous picture of Andrew, allegedly taken by sex offender Epstein, standing next to sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell, he’s in his forties and Virginia is 17. I think the legal term is ewwww.

It’s reported that brother and nephew Charles and William were behind the decision to cut Andrew adrift when a New York judge ruled he’d have to answer to Virginia’s claims of sexual assault.

Royal and ruthless. It’s a killer combo.

In a move befitting the ninth in line to the British throne, Andrew’s argument was that his dead sex offender friend had paid her off, that the agreement was full and final and thus the action against him could not commence.

He also tried arguing that she didn’t live in America, as well as casting doubt on her character. There goes any chance of a quickie settlement.

The only bit of good news for the 61-year-old is that he can cover his own legal fees now that he’s finally managed to offload his Swiss ski chalet for nearly £18 million.

I say his chalet, but he still owes £6.6 million to the previous owner. That takes a spectacular level of arrogance, but what Andrew lacks in brains, empathy and a grip on reality he makes up for in condescension to the little people.

He’s about to discover that little people have a voice, and he can no longer hide behind uniforms, titles or his mummy.

Royal Mail has announced a special set of stamps to celebrate The Rolling Stones (Royal Mail/PA)
  • STAMP OF APPROVAL FOR AGEING ROCKERS

THE Rolling Stones have been honoured with a set of commemorative stamps, which is as rock ’n’ roll as their decades of astute fiscal management.

Charlie Watts, who died last year at 80, is being honoured as the cornerstone of the band, although he looks like your nan’s on drums.

At least Keith Richards and Ronnie Woods still have an air of danger, along with an air of hair dye, weed and Werther’s Originals

Novak Djokovic angered many in Australia when he announced he was heading to Melbourne with a medical exemption to the requirements for visitors to be inoculated against Covid-19. Photo: Tess Derry

NOVAK Djokovic may be the world’s best tennis player, but he can’t take a hint.

He was only allowed into Australia on a technicality when Border Force officials didn’t give him enough time to submit paperwork.

And in all the confusion he totally forgot he’d been in Spain, did an interview after a positive Covid test, and then had to blame his agent for everything.

Stay classy Novak.

The Aussies are now trying to boot him out again because you can’t hold a tennis racket while sticking two fingers up to people.

Never mind reading the room.
