Articulated lorry traps residents in Stonepitts Close

Residents in Stonepitts Close, Binstead, remain trapped after a Royal Mail articulated lorry became stuck across the road.

The lorry sits on Binstead Road just up from the junction with Stonepitts Close and is currently blocking all traffic. The residents are marooned because Binstead Road west of Stonepitts Close is currently closed due to roadworks.

Residents unable to come and go
An OnTheWight reader contacted the publication after encountering the obstruction.

Robert Cooper sent photographs showing the articulated vehicle wedged across the carriageway.

Concerns raised over signage and delay
Mr Cooper said,

“The driver can’t read road closure signage.”

He added,

“It’s going to be hours having him winched out.”

Impact on Stonepitts Close
Mr Cooper also said,

“Stonepitts Close residents are marooned!”

The situation continues to cause disruption for people living in the close while recovery arrangements remain ongoing.
