As new parcel rules take effect in the UK, Britons can expect better delivery service.
Because of the large number of complaints received by PARCEL and delivery companies, the regulator, Ofcom, is planning to impose new rules.
After nearly two-thirds of Britons said they had problems with their deliveries, parcel companies are being forced to improve their services.
Ofcom intends to impose new rules that will require businesses to treat their customers more fairly.
Disabled customers will be better protected as a result of some of the changes.
Those are said to be 50 percent more likely to have delivery issues.
According to a recent survey, 64% of Britons had problems with parcel deliveries in the previous three months.
When there is a problem, a quarter of respondents said it is difficult to file a complaint or contact the delivery company.
One out of every ten people said their problem had not been resolved.
According to recent data, more than 10 million parcels are delivered every day, indicating that this is a major problem in the United Kingdom.
“Parcel deliveries have become increasingly important in our daily lives, and customers rightly expect a positive experience,” said Lindsey Fussell, the director of Ofcom’s networks and communications group.
“We intend to tighten our rules to ensure that delivery companies treat people fairly.”
“If we don’t see significant improvements in customer service, we’ll consider taking enforcement action or tightening the rules even more.”
