The City Council may approve a contract with Southern Global Safety Service this afternoon to remove asbestos from the old downtown post office. The $12,265.85 contract will be considered at the 6 p.m. meeting. Southern Global is a Houston-based firm that specializes in safety and environmental services, including asbestos removal.
