In an official statement Samsung UK said:
“Samsung is committed to providing the highest levels of quality and customer satisfaction across all of our products.
“Our washing machines undergo rigorous testing to ensure durability and are designed to deliver long-lasting and reliable performance under normal usage conditions.
“As with all brands, the washing machine seal can be damaged by the user if sufficient care is not taken when loading or unloading the machine.
“We provide care and guidance instructions within our user manual to help our customers get the most from their product, and we advise customers to check these prior to use if they are unsure about any particular usage circumstances.
We would encourage any customers with issues to get in touch with our customer support team.”
After this statement, we had further communication with Samsung querying whether they believed that customers loading the washing machines incorrectly was what caused the fault, as our expert did not believe it was down to user error. In response Samsung said:
“We’ve been speaking to our team and in order to answer your questions and fully understand the findings of your expert – we would like the opportunity to connect our testing team with your expert, if possible please?
We can arrange this today if that works or even happy to do this post broadcast as keen to understand more from them? As we said before, we take all complaints on a case by case basis to ensure customers are supported in the best way possible so for us it’s important we gather all insights.”
