BBC Strictly’s Tyler West completes London Marathon day after week two dance

Tyler West, who is currently competing in BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, completed the London Marathon today (Sunday).

The radio DJ is dancing with professional partner Dianne Buswell who attended the running event to cheer the 26-year-old on.

Buswell, 33, took to her Instagram story to congratulate West, writing: “@tylerwestt was still on the run from last night’s bank robbery jive!

“So much so he just ran a marathon!!!

“Absolutely amazing, well done partner.”

During the second week of the series on Saturday night, West and Buswell, who has been a Strictly professional since 2017, danced the jive to Hit The Road Jack by Buster Poindexter.

The dance started with the duo jumping out of an old-fashioned motor car in the middle of the dancefloor, before using other props including suitcases filled with bank notes during the performance.

The pair earned a score of 31 with their jive routine and head judge Shirley Ballas gave them a standing ovation. She said: “You’re the real deal. You bring something you can’t teach.

“You’ve got an attitude, you’ve got a soul… I flippin’ loved it.”

The London Marathon took place today and less than 24 hours after competing in last night’s show, West had swapped his dancing shoes for a pair of trainers and made his way to the start line for the 2022 running event.

A number of other famous faces were among those running including former The Only Way Is Essex star Mark Wright.
