Beat-Herder 2019: Line-up, tickets and location

A festival featuring some of the world’s greatest dance and hip-hop acts, in a forest with a fancy dress theme.

Now that is something you need to be involved with.

Set in the archaic and mystical forests surrounding Dockber Farm, Beat-Herder will once again return to the village of Sawley in the Ribble Valley for 2019.

It’s certainly a unique festival, with the site strewn with hand-made decorations, restored cars and a literal fort, I mean there is one stage which is a castle with strobe lights, a literal castle.

The fancy dress theme for 2019 is the letter R by the way, so get ready to be robots, rats, Royal Mail Postmen or

Dates and Times

Things kick-off in this epic, strange post-apocalyptic rave on Friday July 12 and run on to Sunday July 14.

Stage times are yet to be announced but the site opens at 9am on Friday with the music and entertainment beginning at 4pm.

The music will begin to wind down at 3-4am on Friday and Saturday but stops at midnight on Sunday.

As the festival fast approaches tickets are being sold at an alarming rate.

Thankfully there still adult standard tickets left at £174 for the weekend with various prices available for under 18s.

Those aged 13-17 can get tickets priced at £95.80 and its just £33 for those aged 12 and under although they must be purchased by someone over the age of 25.

Infants, those aged two and younger, are given free attendance to the festival.

Day tickets are not available.

Travel information

Getting to Sawley by car shouldn’t be a problem, just follow the A59 heading north and get off at the turning for Sawley, if you’ve reached Gisburn you’ve gone too far.

If you’re Satnav reliant use the postcode BB7 4LH.

Car parking passes are available at £16.75 and if you aren’t one to rough it in the tents you can buy a car and caravan pass for £65.20. Campervan passes are also available for £44 and £65.20 depending on length.

Basement Jaxx will be performing a DJ set

In terms of public transport you need to get yourself to the nearby town of Clitheroe.

Trains are available on Northern Rail into the Clitheroe Interchange, from there you can catch a number three bus into Sawley.

You’ll have to be quick though, there are only three buses a day on Fridays, five on Saturdays and the service is not available on Sundays.

The X80 bus also takes you directly to the festival from elsewhere.

Line-up and things to do

The line-up is literally too big to fit on one web page but it’s a stonker all the same.

Rudimental, Groove Armada and Sister Sledge are the obvious headliners for this festival but a DJ set from Basement Jaxx, Skream and an appearance from Dub Pistols are all notable acts.

With more than 80 artists already announced and more to come, Beat-Herder looks like it could be the event of the summer.

As for everything else, organisers say that there will be a wide range of food vendors on hand at the festival, catering for all tastes.

In terms of other forms of entertainment we’ve heard rumours of hottubs.
