Harpinder Singh has resigned from his post at Queensbridge School
A Birmingham headteacher has resigned days before his school reopens for the new academic year.
An email was sent to parents and carers yesterday, Monday, September 1, saying Harpinder Singh had stepped down from his post at Queensbridge School in Moseley.
A reason was not given for his departure and the message said deputy head would be acting as interim head while the replacement process was underway.

The mixed-sex school is due to reopen to pupils tomorrow, Wednesday, September 3, after the summer break. It has around 900 11 to 16-year-olds on its roll.
The message read: “We are announcing that Mr Singh has made the decision to resign from his post as headteacher of Queensbridge School.

“This decision has been agreed with the board of governors and will take effect from August 31, 2025.
“Mr Singh is very proud of all that has been achieved by everyone in the school and to have worked with so many excellent staff and students. Mr Singh wishes staff, pupils and the school every success in the future.
“The governors thank Mr Singh for the contributions he has made to the school and wish him well for the future.
“Miss Taylor (deputy head) will ensure a smooth start to the new term as interim headteacher while governors work with senior leaders to make longer term arrangements for running the school.
“We will update you at the beginning of October.”
