Black driver harassed at work with pictures of Ku Klux Klan

A black employee of a multinational company that claims to “live” its diversity values “every day” was harassed by colleagues with pictures of the Ku Klux Klan.

Kenny Clarke, a delivery driver with GXO Logistics Drinks, successfully sued his managers afer he was the subject of “banter” for two years by colleagues in a WhatsApp group which included an image of members of the racist American organisation that was said to be of “a union meeting”.

An employment tribunal was told that Clarke was also targeted by colleagues with a post of a video of a child attempting to say the word “blackcurrant”, which instead sounded like an offensive phrase.

The company will now have to pay compensation to Clarke. The business states under its
