Bonfire Night 2022 is fast approaching – nope, we can’t believe it either – and it’s time to get the sparklers ready along with the gloves, hats and scarves as we stand outside and stare at the sky for some cracking firework displays. Across the country, there are some great events lined up for family and friends to enjoy Guy Fawke’s Night, with a cheeky hot dog or toffee apple.
Here we’ve rounded up some of the big events in Wales and all the information you’ll need to know including when, where and if you need tickets.

Barry Island Fireworks Fiesta
When: Saturday, October 29
This is a free event at Barry Island with the fireworks located at Friars Point, overlooking the beach at the Island. It’s a charity event raising money for Age Connect and bucket collection will take place. The Barry Island Pleasure Park – which will be open from 4pm on the night, will offer free ghost train rides at the park.
The firework display will start at 7.30pm.
Sophiaworks, Cardiff
When : Friday, November 4
Tickets are now on sale for the Cardiff cricket ground’s fireworks display which will also have live music and family entertainment, including funfair rides and cricket skills. There’ll also be street food on site. Gates open at 5.30pm and the fireworks will start at 7.15pm. Ticket prices are £12 for adults and £8 for under 17s, under 2s go free. To buy tickets, click here.
Carmarthen Fireworks Bonanza
When : Saturday, November 5
The Carmarthen Round Table is back with its annual Guy Fawke’s celebration with fun fair, food and music as well as not one, but two fireworks displays. The children’s at 7pm, then the big bang will start at 8pm. Tickets are £5 each or a family ticket is £20 and admits five. For more information and how to buy tickets, click here.
Parc y Scarlets Fireworks Night
When : Sunday, November 6
The Llanelli Scarlets’ home ground will once again host a bonfire event with funfair, food and live entertainment. The gates will open from 4pm and the entertainment and fireworks kick off at 6pm. TIckets are from £9.50pp and you can find more information, here.
Mumbles Laser Show, Swansea
When : Thursday, November 3
There’s a show in the sky with a difference this year down in Mumbles with a ‘cutting edge’ laser show in place of fireworks and it’s free, too. Hosted by Mumbles Community Council, there’s also going to be food stalls and fairground rides. The lasers will start at 6.30pm.
Llandudno Fireworks Display
When : Thursday, October 27
The fireworks will take place over North Shore beach and start at 7.30pm. For up-to-date information about the event, visit the display’s Facebook page.
Blaenau Gwent Fireworks Display, Ebbw Vale
When: Sunday, November 6
The fireworks and fun will return to Eugene Cross Park for 2022. The event, gates for which will open at 6pm and fireworks start at 7.30pm, has just been announced and tickets are yet to go on sale online, but you can buy them from local businesses.
