Breakfast that the Royal children eat every day costs less than £2 at Aldi

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis may be expected to have a fancier, albeit more expansive breakfast, considering the Royal Family’s immense wealth. However, it seems the young royals who are aged nine, seven, and four, have a fairly normal and inexpensive first meal.

It was at Stockwell Gardens Nursery and Pre-school in London where the Princess of Wales spoke of her children’s favourite breakfasts. According to the school manager Michelle Samuels, the young royals prefer to eat cereal and apples for their first meal of the day, reports MyLondon.

She told today.com: “She mentioned to three of the children that her own children enjoy apples and cereal in the morning, which sparked a conversation with the children about their own preference of fruits.”

A packet of red mini apples cost just 85p in Aldi. Meanwhile, a box of cereal ranges from 59p to £2.25, meaning both royal breakfast snacks could be bought for less than a fiver. Prince Louis’ favourite vegetable, on the other hand, is far more sophisticated.

A few years ago, Kate Middleton spoke to Dame Mary Berry about her children’s food preferences, saying: “We’ve got carrots, beans, beetroot – a massive favourite – Louis absolutely loves beetroot.” The princess also revealed that Princess Charlotte is a big fan of olives as well – a fancy snack for someone so young.

Not only do the children enjoy a varied diet, they’re also quite the cooks themselves. While visiting Lavender Primary School in Enfield, Kate revealed their love for making cheesy pasta.

“One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in,” Matthew Kleiner-Mann, chief executive of the Ivy Learning Trust, said after a visit to the school in 2019, “She was telling us how much her children love cooking and how they cook for her.”
