The Palace’s birthday tribute to Anne featured 75 facts about the Princess Royal but was swiftly taken down after fans spotted a ‘fact’ that has never been revealed to the public before.
Buckingham Palace has been forced to remove a birthday post for Princess Anne’s milestone birthday after making an eyebrow raising mistake in the tribute. The Palace had released a list of 75 facts about the Princess Royal in honour of her 75th birthday tomorrow.
However, one fact appeared to cause some controversy among royal fans which ended up leading to the entire post being removed. The point, which stirred up some upset, was the 14th fact on the list, and claimed that Anne had two step-children from her second marriage to Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.
The Palace even named these supposed stepchildren as Tom and Amy Laurence. This information was quickly called out by eagle-eyed fans who pointed out that Sir Tim, a retired Royal Navy officer, had not been previously married before tying the knot with Princess Anne in December 1992.
There has also never been any mention of him having kids from a previous relationship.
Meanwhile Anne herself has two kids, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, from her first marriage to Captain Mark Phillips.
Despite the Palace removing the list of facts from their official website, it still appears on Google. The tweet which was put out in honour of Anne’s birthday has also been deleted.
One royal fan who quickly noticed the error commented:”#14 Tom and Amy Laurence? Either I’ve gone crazy or Sir Tim Laurence has secret children.”
They added: “Pretty sure this is an error, but how did that happen? I can’t think of any Tom & Amy siblings in the extended Royal Family.”
Another echoed: “That would be the best hidden royal secret ever.”
A third person disputed: “This is not true. Sir Tim does not have children from a previous relationship.”
A fourth questioned: “That is so odd? Could it be an AI mistake? Someone at BP made that list with chatgpt but didn’t check it? Otherwise that would be one heck of a plot twist.”
A fifth person simply exclaimed: “Wild.”
Princess Anne has received high praise ahead of her milestone birthday from charity figure heads she has worked with years, as well as the Royal Family for her long-standing dedication the Firm and lifetime of service.

Often dubbed the ‘hardest working member of the Firm’, Anne is said to have a ‘birthday rule’ where she only makes a fuss out of milestone birthdays and luckily tomorrow’s one fits the bill!
According to the Sunday Times’ royal correspondent, Roya Nikkhah, the Princess Royal is planning to start ‘winding down’ on her royal duties in the next couple of years.
Roya claims: “I was told that she’s told her team: ‘I’m going to start winding down a little bit at 80, in five years’ time, and then I want to step back completely at 90′.”
