The incident occurred at Upavon Surgery, not far from Pewsey, on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 25.

Avon Valley Practice issued a statement on its social media channel, assuring patients that the person involved was not injured and that the surgery remains open.

In an update, a spokesperson for the surgery said: “Yesterday afternoon, an unexpected incident occurred when a car accidentally drove into the front of the surgery building.

“We wish to reassure all patients that the individual involved was assessed and, thankfully, was not injured. The building has been inspected and is safe to use. The surgery remains open as usual; however, there is some disruption to access while repair works are underway.

“Important information for patients:

– “If you have a booked appointment at Upavon, please attend as planned unless we contact you

– “Follow the signage on arrival to access the waiting room.

“For patients wishing to use the walk-in clinic, we kindly ask that you only attend if it is necessary or if you have been asked to do so by a member of the practice team.
