9:12 a.m. – According to the Department of Public Health and Social Services, 23 individuals were disqualified from receiving their food stamps from January to March of this year due to “intentionally violating” rules under both the Food Stamps and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families programs, according to an agency news release. With a postal rate increase just two weeks away, Americans are buying 30 million Forever stamps a day. The cost of sending a first-class letter will rise a penny to 42 cents on May 12, but the Forever stamps — currently selling for 41 cents — will remain valid for full postage after the increase….

If there was ever a time to brave that lengthy line at the post office, it’s now, as thousands of Americans hurry to reap the savings of Forever stamps before U.S. postage rates increase 1 cent on May 12. More: continued here
