Christmas is a time of tradition and activities, and a classic family activity during the festivities is to visit Santa’s Grotto.

For youngsters, a chance to meet Santa himself is absolutely magical, and for grown-ups, it’s a chance to see little ones smile from ear to ear.

Every year, Santa settles in his magical grotto at a number of locations across the UK, and thankfully, he’s chosen to make base in Cambridgeshire.

There are a number of Santa’s Grottos operating this December, and for those who can’t wait, we’ve listed where they are.

Here are all the places you can visit Father Christmas in Cambridgeshire this December.

Father Christmas at the Fen

Wicken Fen Nature Reserve

One of the locations Father Christmas will be stopping is at the, Wicken Fen National Nature Reserve.

Here you will have a chance to work with Santa’s little helpers and make a Christmas decoration for you to take home.

Father Christmas will be waiting for you in the Fen Cottage where you can deliver your Christmas list and if you’re good, receive a little present too.

If you arrive on December 4 or December 5, you will have a surprise visit from Mrs Claus, as Father Christmas will be popping back to the North Pole to attend some last-minute work.

It will be worth noting you must book in advance to secure your date and time with slots going fast.

Scotsdales Garden Centre

Have you ever wanted to take a walk through a Winter Wonderland?

Scotsdales, located in Great Shelford, will be hosting Father Christmas once again and making him feel right at home with a Lapland inspired Winter Wonderland walk-through.

It’s one of his favourite places, and a few years ago, he even turned up at Scotsdales in a monster truck!

Here you can experience what it is like to walk through Father Christmas’s garden with the chance to be joined by up to five people, so make sure you bring family and friends along.

Do dress warm, where Santa comes from, it can be very cold!

Slots are very limited, booking as soon as possible is recommended to secure a spot for a winter wonderland walk.

Christmas at Skylark

Skylark Garden Centre, located just outside of March, have created a brand new experience this year, with a magical new grotto for Father Christmas and plenty of fun activities to get you in a festive mood.

From visiting Father Christmas, and picking out your own gift, there will be a chance to dive into making a bear to take home.

There could also be a surprise visit from kids entertainer Just Josh.

If that’s not enough, then making food for Santa’s Reindeers and having your picture shot from Santa’s wooden sleigh will make your day that extra special.

Once again you will need to book fast as this event will bound to be a hit with the Cambridgeshire residents.

Breakfast with Santa

A good breakfast is the best way kick-start your day, and the same rule applies to Santa.

At Orchard Garden Centre Cambridge in Coton, join Father Christmas while he takes a break from making toys and sits down for a special breakfast meal.

Before you leave you will also be greeted with an early Christmas gift so this is a don’t miss experience before the big day.

For £13.95, Adults and Kids can eat breakfast with Santa, with a wide range of options on the menu to cater for everyone’s needs, booking in advance will guarantee you a spot at the table.
