City budget certified, stamps go on tax bills today (Eagle-Tribune Online)

LAWRENCE — Tax bills are going in the mail today, bringing a much-needed stream of revenue into the city. The third-quarter bills, delayed because of problems with the city’s $236 million budget, are due on May 1, said Mark Andrews, city budget and finance director.
