UK based startup company, Charge Automotive have announced that they will revealed electric Ford Mustang at Goodwood Festival of Speed. They will produce 499 units of electric Mustang. It will use officially licensed bodyshells of the iconic 1960’s Mustang. Price of the battery powered Ford Mustang starts from £300,000. All-electric muscle car will feature a pair of electric motors that produces a combined output of 469hp and 1,200 Nm of torque. Energy is drawn from a 64kWh battery pack. Arrival is known for electric powered trucks used by Roborace, Royal Mail and Michelin. Jaguar Land Rover, McLaren Automotive and Williams F1 are also part of this project. Charge Automotive claims that electric Ford Mustang is able to hit 0-60mph in flat 4.0 seconds and hits top speed of 149 mph. With respect to driving range, electric Mustang can travel 200 miles on a full charge and is compatible with 50kW DC fast charging. Interior image of electric Ford Mustang is yet to be revealed, but a short teaser gives us a glimpse of it. It offers a high-end bespoke cabin that features state-of-the-art components and personalized digital interface.
With Charge Automotive taking on EV route for Mustang, it joins other electric classic cars and includes important manufacturers like Aston Martin. British luxury sports maker is offering electric conversion for DB6 Volante and also by electric-powered Jaguar E-Type. Reservation for the all-Charge Automotive electric Mustang is now open. Company is planning to commence deliveries by this September.
