‘Come on you black c**t, hurry up’: Racist postman is unwittingly filmed on pensioner’s video doorbell using horrific slurs while waiting for him to open door to collect package

  • Royal Mail worker was caught on ‘smart doorbell’ camera saying the racist words
  • Son of Sardar Singh, 70, has doorbell connected to phone and heard postman
  • He said: ‘It was awful. My dad is an older man. Quite frail and has a walking stick’

A racist postman has been caught on CCTV muttering ‘Come on you black c**t, hurry up’ while waiting for a pensioner to answer the door.

In the footage, the Royal Mail worker is heard saying: ‘Come on you black c**t, hurry up. Open your f****** [inaudible].’

He then hums a tune as the door opens before he delivers the parcel to the man in Manchester on Tuesday.

The Royal Mail said it has a ‘zero-tolerance approach’ to racism and will launch an immediate investigation.

Homeowner Sardar Singh, 70, did not hear the racist language but the house is fitted with a ‘smart doorbell’ which records video and audio footage when someone rings it.

His son, Ben Singh, was alerted to the recording as it is linked up to his phone.

Ben, 35, said: ‘It was awful. My dad is an older man. He is quite frail and has a walking stick.

‘We are British-born. I’m disgusted, appalled, outraged.

‘The postman would have been looking at my dad when he said, ”Come on you black c**t.”

‘I was listening to it in live time. I was gobsmacked.

‘I went back over it and it is crystal clear. I’m just bewildered. That’s just unacceptable.

‘The c-word is bad enough. I have called the 101 service and they think it’s a serious hate crime.’

He added: ‘My dad is worried and frightened to open the door.’
