A cordon remains in place next to the A259 after varying reports of a “hit and run” and “stabbing” outside a hotel.

Police tape cordons off a section of the pavement on Brighton seafront following the incident in the early hours of the morning.

Bystanders to the scene outside the Leonardo Hotel told of reports of a “hit and run” as well as an alleged “stabbing” at roughly 4am this morning.

Reports also suggest that people involved in the incident left the scene in a black car.

Sussex Police have been approached for comment.
