Cornwall seller offers bran flake shaped like Ireland for £1,000 on eBay

A seller from Cornwall is offering a very unusual – and expensive – item for sale on eBay.

How would you like to own a bran flake shaped like Ireland? This odd country-shaped food stuff is listed at £1,000.

It’s enough to make you choke on your cornflakes.

The seller from Camborne, Nimblestore, has actually increased the price of the Gaelic flake by ten times its original listing of £100 after it featured on both The Sun and Irish Mirror.

The canny Cornish person commented: “Update: Now that the bran flake is famous and clearly carries the luck of the Irish its price has increased tenfold.”

The flake is described as “condition new (not used with milk) and unboxed.”

A taste of Ireland

The sale states: “To abide by eBay’s policy for sale of items such as this you will receive a coupon for this incredible bran flake shaped like Ireland.

“I am selling a special coupon that can be used to redeem this bran flake that may or may not give you the luck of the Irish. Simply send the coupon received to the address on the coupon and you will receive this amazing bran flake. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class.”

In the Item Specifics section, for “Required Level of Weirdness, the Camborne seller of the quirky cereal item fittingly lists it as “really weird”.

If you’re desperate to win this Ireland-shaped delicacy then there’s the added bonus of a payment plan. You can pay £48 per month for 24 months (though you’ll end up paying £1,152 that way).

There have been no bids so far but 13 people have been watching it for the past 24 hours.

Cornwall’s Nimblestore is also selling a McDonald’s plastic straw for £500.

They state: “Brilliant uncirculated brand new McDonald’s straw. This is soon to become the stuff of legend, imagine your (sic) about 50 years older than you are now, telling your grandchildren how you got given plastic straws from McDonald’s and they will look up to you like god!”
