Coronavirus case confirmed at the Honda plant in Swindon

A source told the Adver that a notice at the site yesterday mentioned that there was an outbreak of Covid-19 but did not specify how many people were thought to be affected or where in the plant they worked. It was claimed that senior staff were withholding the details.

A spokeswoman for the car manufacturer told the Adver: “Honda of the UK Manufacturing can confirm an associate has tested positive for Covid-19.

“Honda is following all government and Public Health England protocols to maintain a Covid-secure site.”

The spokeswoman added that Public Health England South West is seeing the case as isolated and low-risk.

The Adver approached Public Health England for comment.
