The plans, submitted to North Norfolk District Council, propose converting the empty former locksmiths at 10 Bond Street, Cromer, into a local hub and meeting place for cyclists.
The shop would be called ‘route 30 cycles’.

The application proposes bringing a new lease of life to the space providing a cycle maintenance, repair and sales shop with a workshop to the rear.

It would also serve refreshments.
The plans also seek to convert the upper floors of the building into three flats.
A planning document sent to the council said: “The ethos behind the proposal is to provide a local hub and meeting place for cyclists and in particular the club cyclist who regularly cycles along Route 30, which runs through Cromer along Mount Street and Louden Road adjacent to Bond Street, which crosses both roads.
“As part of the service to cyclists, repairs, parts maintenance and parts sales will be limited refreshment facilities servicing tea, coffee and cold drinks etc along with carbohydrate and protein rich snacks to refuel the tired cyclist and of course any passing pedestrians.

“The proposal is a welcome injection of life with a tired building with a purpose that will enrich and enhance the conservation area and in a small way encourage residents to the town centre.”
The plans are pending consideration with North Norfolk District Council.
