The Royal Mail is marking the 40th anniversary of Only Fools And Horses with a new set of stamps.
A total of 12 stamps will be released on February 16 referencing the classic comedy.
Eight of them depict scenes and one-liners from the sitcom, including Del Boy falling through a bar in a pub and the chandelier crashing to the ground.
The other four show Del Boy, Rodney, Grandad and Uncle Albert, with their catchphrases. Del Boy’s reads: ‘This time next year, we’ll be millionaires!’
The Royal Mail’s Philip Parker said: ‘The superb writing, comic one-liners and the warmth and idiosyncrasies of its characters made Only Fools And Horses one of the most loved TV comedies of all time.
‘We celebrate 40 years of the Trotters’ wheeling and dealing, with new stamps revisiting some of the show’s classic moments.’
Two years ago John Challis, who plays Boycie, called for the Royal Mail to make such stamps: ‘Harry Potter stamps but STILL no commemorative Only Fools and Horses stamps. Any reason for this?’ he asked as a tribute to the boy wizard was released.
Last year, Ireland marked the 25th anniversary of Father Ted by releasing a series of four commemorative stamps.
