Deadline date for sending letter to Santa via Royal Mail to get a reply

The middle of November means that it will be just around the time that children will want to write up their Christmas list and send it off to Father Christmas.

Usually burnt in the fire, or hidden under the parents bed, it is near impossible that Father Christmas would have time to reply to a Christmas message during his busiest season.

Now, children can send off their Christmas list or message and receive a reply from Santa’s grotto where the elves are busy making their hundredth Lego set of the Christmas season.

Royal Mail have started the scheme and will help the cards get to Santa and send back his reply in the post.

They have told Money Saving Expert that the deadline for sending a letter off to Santa is 11.59pm on Friday, December 10.

They advised that for more of a chance at getting a reply before the big day you should send off your letter before then.

You will have to pay for a stamp in order for the message to reach the bearded gift supplier, first class 85p, second class, 66p.

To get a reply from the Royal Mail (Santa) you will need to remember to include full names and addresses, so Father Christmas knows where to send his reply.

The reply isn’t guaranteed as in the past the Royal Mail have failed to reply to messages because of their extraordinary workload over the festive period.

It would be better to make sure your kids know that it’s possible Santa won’t reply as he is very busy making presents during the Christmas period.

The address to send the card to is: Santa/Father Christmas, Santa’s Grotto, Reindeerland, XM4 5HQ.

As well as a personalised card a website called Portable North Pole lets you send friends or family a free personalised video message from Santa. It’ll ask you to upload photos of yourself and the recipient, plus a picture of the gift they’d most like to receive for Christmas.

And, let’s not forget the free website Norad Santa which opens its doors at the start of December to let families track Santa’s progress as he visits the homes of children across the world on Christmas Day.
