A ‘SPECIAL’ band is joining two Britpop legends and a rave scene pioneer for a charity gig.
Winsford three-piece Déjà Vega has been announced as an addition to the line-up for upcoming music event ‘Disco Down’.
Already on the bill are Rick Witter and Paul Banks, of Shed Seven fame, and musician ‘A Guy Called Gerald’, the creator of classic dance anthem ‘Voodoo Ray’ and an early member of 808 State.
The gig, which takes place in Northwich on March 4, is being hosted by Tiny Steps, a charity which provides a sensory play area and social café for children and young people with additional needs and their families in Northwich and Winsford.
Event organiser Scott Burstow, who will be doing a DJ set on the night, said: “We announced the original line up back at the start of January but always wanted to include a local band.
“Déjà Vega are perhaps the best local band around, and in fact the north, so I was delighted they wanted to help us and be included, especially as they are busy promoting their new album.
“I have seen them a few times live and they are special and never disappoint.”
Shed Seven members Rick and Paul will be performing an intimate acoustic set, while Clint Boon, a regular support of Tiny Steps gigs in the town, will also be on hand performing a DJ set.
Music-lovers from all over the country are coming to the highly-anticpated gig, which will be held at Northwich’s Memorial Court.
Scott added: “Ticket sales so far are great and I expect to get close to capacity so I would urge to get your tickets now.
“We really wanted to try to appeal to many people so DJs, dance music, live bands and its amazing where people are coming from.
“We have ticket sales from people in Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham, London and Dover, so literally all across the UK which also gives Tiny Steps and Northwich some amazing exposure.
“The community are really getting behind the night with so many people helping spread the word.”
Tickets for the event, which starts at 7pm, are £27.50 with all proceeds going to the charity.
