Dispersal order in place after ‘ongoing issues’ with anti-social youths

A dispersal order has been put in place after ongoing issues with youths causing anti-social behaviour.

Copeland Police said the order, affecting Whitehaven Town Centre, came after ‘irresponsible behaviour’ that ‘takes officers away from dealing with other calls for service’.

“Numerous youths have already been issued banning orders and parents receiving phone calls to come and collect their children,” they said.

Parents are urged to check in with their children to ensure they know of their whereabouts and what they’re up to.

Officers are out on foot patrol and CCTV is being monitored.
