People might recall the smug look of Uncle Vernon from Harry Potter chiding Harry that there’s ‘no post on Sundays.’

Of course, he was wrong because Harry Potter is 1) fictional and 2) their network of mail carriers were owls, so probably had less employment rights.

However, even in the real world, Uncle Vernon would find himself proven wrong.

Many companies offer Sunday delivery these days. Are Evri, a popular delivery company formerly known as Hermes, one of them?

If you can’t resist a bit of online shopping, you’re in luck – Evri operate seven days a week.

This means you can expect to receive deliveries on Sundays, too.

As per their website: ‘Our network of couriers work 7 days a week, so you can have parcels delivered on weekends.’

‘You can use our Lockers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – so you can drop off or collect your parcel whenever it suits you.’

And finally, they add: ‘Most of our ParcelShops are open 7 days a week, where you can send, collect and return parcels.’

Evri aren’t alone in doing Sunday deliveries nowadays. While historically Sunday was a day of no post, that’s changed as the world becomes more dependent on shopping, working and living online.

Royal Mail announced a change to its Sunday parcel delivery service earlier this year in an effort to try and keep pace with its online rivals.

As of early June 2022, the company’s Sunday delivery service is now available to over 12,000 of its online retailer customers.
