Detailing the temporary closure, a Royal Mail spokesperson said: “The safety of our customers is of paramount importance to us, therefore, to allow for the building work to take place, it will be necessary for the service to close, temporarily, on Thursday, September 24 at 5.30pm.

“It is envisaged that the work will take approximately eight and a half months to complete, following which the service is due to re-open on Wednesday, June 2 2021 at 7.30am.

“We would like to apologise for the inconvenience the temporary closure may cause. In the interim, we hope that our customers will continue to use Post Office services.”

Alternative Post Offices have been suggested: Templepatrick Road Post Office, 91 Templepatrick Road, Ballyclare, BT39 9RQ and ● Ballyrobert Post Office, 47 Mossley Road, Ballyrobert, Ballyclare, BT39 9RX.
