Staff at accountancy company Forrester Boyd are celebrating after it scooped a top award. Forrester Boyd – which has more than 150 employees based in offices in Grimsby, Louth, Scunthorpe, Skegness, Lincoln, Beverley and Leeds – toasted success as Employer of the Year at the prestigious Yorkshire Accountancy Awards.
The company, which has its head office in Beverley, also received a Highly Commended accolade for its marketing team in the Support Team of the Year category at the ceremony. Held last week at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, the Yorkshire Accountancy Awards bring together leading firms and professionals to single out excellence within the profession.
Directors said winning Employer of the Year marks a significant achievement for the firm, reflecting its continued investment in its people, culture and long-term development. The award recognises organisations that demonstrate a strong commitment to employee wellbeing, career progression, inclusivity and creating a positive working environment.
The awards come during an exciting period of growth for Forrester Boyd, which is developing of its Leeds office while investing in its teams across the region.
The group was formed in 1935 by the merger of Mr SM Forrester, who began practising in Grimsby in 1900 and Mr W Robson Boyd, who set up practice in 1910 and is now one of the largest independent chartered accountancy practices in Lincolnshire and the Humber region.

Forrester Boyd expanded into Scunthorpe in 1937 and Louth in 1939. It also had an office on the docks – until an incendiary raid on the pontoon by Hitler’s Luftwaffe in 1943 destroyed it.
