Dozens of post offices are facing the axe across central and south Scotland in the latest raft of closures to be announced today. A total of 44 branches in Ayrshire, Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and Inverclyde are to be lost as Royal Mail seeks to close outlets which it says are unprofitable.
