Drama at the Royal Perth Show as a monster truck demonstration goes horribly wrong in front of hundreds of revellers

Terrifying footage has captured the moment monster truck display at the Royal Perth Show didn’t go to plan after one vehicle broke down while another crashed and landed on its roof.

A blue monster truck had been going over ramps, when it failed to land its last one and flipped onto its roof on the first night of the show on Saturday in front of a packed crowd at Claremont Showground.

As it ended up on its side, a young girl could be heard in the crowd saying ‘I don’t think that’s supposed to happen’.

The footage, that showed the event come to a temporary standstill, was posted to Instagram with the cheeky caption: ‘Can’t park there, mate’.

But the bad luck for the monster trucks didn’t end there.

Seconds later, another truck could be seen  going over a jump.

But when it landed, sparks flew from the red vehicle before it broke down.

The truck had to be towed from the field as the shocked audience, included young kids watched on.

Thankfully, all monsters truck occupants escaped unscathed, The Bell Tower Times reported.

The three monster trucks in the show are all from Western Australia and will continue to perform over the Perth Royal Show every night for the next week.

The Perth Royal Show is on from September 21 to 28.

It’s not the first time a monster truck demonstration has ended in high drama.

In 2017, one woman was treated for shock after a 500 horsepower vehicle veered off course, knocking down a fence protecting crowds at Penrith Showground in western Sydney.

Footage showed horrified spectators scrambling away on foot after narrowly avoiding being crushed.

Witnesses told Daily Mail Australia the victim was a woman in a leg brace who struggled to escape the careering vehicle.
