Drewsen to withdraw from envelope paper production

German specialist mill Drewsen Spezialpapiere will discontinue the production of its Procuverto grades with effect from 1 July 2022.

In a statement, the company said it had made the decision to stop producing the envelope paper due to the expansion of its sustainable paper portfolio, and the ongoing development of technical speciality papers.

“For Drewsen, this is the next logical step in the desire to focus on sustainable, future-oriented paper solutions and to facilitate further growth.

“This decision was not taken lightly, as Drewsen has built up an excellent reputation over recent decades as a reliable partner in this challenging market.”

Drewsen, which ships to more than 70 countries, is also set to “raise its prices significantly” for deliveries starting from 1 July 2022.

It said the forced increase was due to “sustained increasing costs for pulp, auxiliary materials and energy”.

Customers will be contacted directly by the Drewsen sales team.
