TWO-WEEK WINDOW: The DWP payments will mostly be paid up until Tuesday, July 4 (Image: Getty Images/iStockphoto)
A £150 cost of living payment started arriving in bank accounts for millions of people claiming disability benefits this week, but you shouldn’t worry if you’re yet to receive it. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will spread the payments out over a two-week window, meaning the cash will be paid to eligible people until Tuesday, July 4.
The payments will be automatic (starting from June 20), with recipients urged to look out for a bank statement reference appearing as their national insurance number followed by ‘DWP COL’. However, not all payments will arrive at the start of the two-week period, and a small number of payments will arrive after July 4 (for those still awaiting confirmation of their eligibility or entitlement to disability benefits on April 1), the Mirror reports.
Keep an eye out for the payment over the next fortnight, but if you haven’t received it by July 5 and have not been waiting for entitlement confirmation, you should contact the DWP. But the cash will be paid separately from your benefits, so you should check before you report it missing.

The UK Government said: “You will be able to report a missing disability cost of living payment from July 5, 2023. Do not contact us before then, as we will not be able to take any action.”
If the deadline passes and you have not had a payment, you can fill out a form on the Government website to raise the issue. The DWP has said you should not report your missing cash more than once; to qualify, you must have been claiming a qualifying benefit on April 1, 2023.
The qualifying benefits are:
- Disability Living Allowance;
- Personal Independence Payment;
- Attendance Allowance;
- Scottish Disability Benefits (Adult Disability Payment and Child Disability Payment);
- Armed Forces Independence Payment;
- Constant Attendance Allowance;
- War Pension Mobility Supplement.
If you received a qualifying benefit from the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and one from the DWP, you will only see a payment from the DWP. If you get it mistakenly, you must pay it back.
